Alaska Salmon Fishing including King, Chum, Red, Pink, and Silver Salmon, also fishing for Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, Grayling, Artic Char, Pike, and Sheefish.
Aniak River flowage produces some of the best sport fishing in Alaska. Aniak River and it’s tributaries hold 5 species of Salmon, including Kings, Chums, Red, Pink and Silvers. It’s home to native Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, Grayling, Arctic Char, Pike and Sheefish – all in abundance. It’s common to catch more than one species of Salmon and a variety of other species of fish in a single day of fishing.
The Aniak River starts at Aniak Lake and eventually empties into the Kuskokwim River. Along it’s way, it breaks into many small streams and sloughs, which makes for excellent fishing. The upper river water clarity is clear and current is fast. There are many gravel bars that make for ideal fishing for Rainbows, Grayling, Dolly Varden and Arctic Char. The lower river is wider and has a slower current which produces outstanding Salmon fishing within minutes of the lodge. You can literally fish right from shore at our lodge and catch a variety of fish.
Our guests are provided with an experienced guide to assure them of a successful and safe fishing experience on some of Alaska’s scenic rivers. We fish 8 to 10 hours a day. If our guests want to fish more or less per day, it’s easily arranged.
We fish from 20’ jet boats, gravel bars and the shoreline. Our boats can accommodate 1 to 3 fisherman and guide.
For fisherman that want to bring a limit of fish back, we vacuum pack and freeze them for you to transport in your cooler home. All others will be released back into the river to fight another day.
Our remote river fishing is a paradise for both fly fishing and spin casting. If you want to travel light, we have a number of Shimano rods and reels available at the lodge. We also have a good supply of lures and flies for your convenience.
